This picture is shown courtesy of The inspired room. I love the large hurricane jar with the spoons, it looks so neat and nicely put together.
I have just spent the quiet afternoon reading blogs, while enjoying a cup of hot cocoa on my comfy soft couch. I have come across new blogs on decorating and fashion, of course these would have been my fave subjects when i was in high school, and of course still are.
I am amazed of all the DIY projects that you can find on here. Come to think of it, I regret throwing away many items during my move. My husband is a neat freak, and i blame him for making me throw away amany of my things. Well good thing that those things were donated rather then thrown into a landfill. Anyway, i have learned that their is a creative use for everything. Glad that i discovered this sooner than later.
I have also learned to take full advantage of dollar stores, TJ maxx, Ross, Homegoods, Overstock.com and any other cheap-O store i can find. Decorating does not have to be expensive, that's for sure.
Now that I have established this, I will make sure to use my treasures for something beautiful that I can love!
The apothecary is a thrift shop find @ $1
I stuffed it with glass vase pebbles from Michaels that have been in a old vase for about 5 years, and a couple old christmas ornaments from my christmas tree. I even stuck in a couple of branches with berries from my garden outside.
Total cost: $1
This old table is a hand me down from my wonderful mother. My little ceramic birdie is a dollar store purchase, and I picked up this Pottery Barn Christmas tree shaped platter at a thrift shop at $3.
The thrist store never fails to amuse me with great finds.
*My camera is not the best so I apologize for the poor lighting and or pictures. I am looking forward to a SLR we are planning on splurging on.
Thanks for reading,
